Finally, Komoro is getting ready for winter. It’s nice to have a sunny day before the cold season starts.‼️

我が家の前には、農家さんが大切に育てていたキャベツ畑やサニーレタス畑が一望に見えます。今年は、３回目の苗植え、そして収穫を終えて静かに冬へ突入します。12月あるいは1月を迎えるとまた雪シーズン到来。

In front of our house, we have a panoramic view of the cabbage and sunny lettuce fields that the farmers carefully cultivated. This year, after the third planting of seedlings and the harvest were done, Komoro farmers are moving into winter. As December or January arrives, the snow season is upon us again.

Komoro Before the Typhoon

明日明後日に近畿地区、東海地区に台風が上陸予定。

Typhoon #10 is scheduled to hit the Kinki and Tokai regions tomorrow and the day after in Japan.

久しぶりに水曜日ごろに長野県にも上陸し、危険な状況を招く可能性がでてきました。

For the first time in a long time, it will make landfall in Nagano Prefecture around Wednesday, potentially causing a dangerous situation.

何年か前に長野県でも大きい千曲川が溢れ、多くの家屋が水浸し、そして上越新幹線の車庫が全滅したことがあり、今回もそのようなことが起きないよう祈るばかりです。

Some years ago in Nagano Prefecture, the large Chikuma River overflowed, flooding many homes and completely destroying the Joetsu Shinkansen train depot. I hope it’s not going to happen again.

This morning, the scenery feels far beyond from Komoro.

庭の前にキャベツ🥬畑が広がり、２日前に農家さんは２日がかりで収穫を終えた。しばらくそのままにするのかと思いましたが、その翌日畑をならしたと思ったら何と次の苗🌱を植えたあと水をまき終了。

Cabbage 🥬 field spread out in front of the my garden, and two days ago the farmer finished harvesting the cabbage in two days. I thought they were going to leave it as it was for a while, but the next day, they finished watering the field after planting the next 🌱 seedlings.

地元の話だと、1年間に3回植替え、秋の終わりに収穫後、一年の畑仕事は終了だそうです。

According to the locals neighborhood, the fields are replanted three times a year, and after harvesting at the end of fall, the year’s work in the fields is done.

Komoro on a pleasant morning after the rain

梅雨のシーズンで毎日のように雨が降り気持ちがどんよりする中、ようやくこの土曜日にここ小諸は気持ちよく晴れわたっています。

It is finally sunny here in Komoro on this Saturday, while it rains every day during the rainy season.

農家さんにとってはこの梅雨のシーズンは畑の農産物にとってとても重要。

For farmers, this rainy season is very important for produce in the fields.

そんな梅雨の晴れ間に、森の中では鳥の囀りが聞こえる。

During these rainy season breaks, birds can be heard singing in the forest.

大都会とまったく違う景色と聞こえる鳥の鳴き声が心のやすらぎを感じます。

The scenery is completely different from that of the big city, and the birdsong that can be heard is a comfort to the soul.

今年5月末に、指勘建具工芸で制作した建具が完成し、無事、プエルト・リコのお客様の自宅へ届けられた。

At the end of May this year, the Kumiko the products produced by Sashikan Kogei in Komono cho, Mie Prefecture were completed and safely delivered to a customer’s home in Puerto Rico.

今年、１月から作業がスタートし2種類の作品のデザイン、設計、そして手作業で約４ヶ月半かけて完成。

Work began in January of this year and took approximately four and a half months to design and complete by hand two different pieces of products.

朝５時に我が家のゴールデンビリーちゃんに起こされ、朝の散歩。都会は蒸し暑いと言われてるが、小諸の山の上は高原のように涼しい。 Our Golden retriever, named Billie woke me up at 5:00 a.m. for our morning walk. People say it is hot and humid in the city of Tokyo, but it is as cool as a plateau on the mountains of Komoro.

北方向を眺めると、北アルプスがまだ雪化粧していて、他の山と比べ力強い山に見えます。　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　　Looking northward, the Northern Alps are still snow-capped and look powerful compared to the other mountains.

農家では旬のサニーレタスがたくさん植えられてます。その景色がとても新鮮に感じます。 Farmers are planting lots of sunny lettuce in this area. The view is very standing.

小諸は午前中雨が降ってましたが、お昼頃から晴れ上がり、気持ち良い信州の午後でした。そして、空気が澄み切ってる感じで、佐久の街が透き通った感じの景色です。

家から見える八ヶ岳連峰の雪が、だんだんと減少してることがわかる。裏の浅間山も同様だ。

The snow on the Yatsugatake mountain range, which can be seen from my house, is gradually decreasing. The same as Asamayama at back of our home.

2月中旬、この地に移住して雪が多く降り、薪ストーブだった生活が終わり、ホッとする今朝の風景。まだ庭の整備はしてませんが、その庭の片隅に花をみつけました。春はもうそこに来ていると感じです。

This morning’s scene is a relief after moving here in mid-February, when snowed a lot in this season and using fireplace is finally over. We have not yet maintained the garden, but I found a flower in a corner of the garden. I feel that spring is already here.
